ABOUT US
Huerter Basketball Camps is a lifelong dream come true realized by four hoopers, Thomas, Kevin, Meghan, and Jillian Huerter who are proud products of the 518 basketball community. Growing up, the Huerter siblings devoted countless hours to local camps and clinics around the Capital Region, and along the way they were exposed to some world class players, coaches, and trainers. These positive summer experiences were central to the Huerters’ ability to develop into high level basketball players, and now they are fortunate enough to help foster some of those same opportunities for the next generation.
In our eyes, a successful summer basketball camp looks like one that:
- Allows every camper to fall a little bit more in love with the game, by playing it in a fun but competitive environment
- Allows every camper to try out a new drill and further develop their own workout regiment
- Allows every camper to make a new friend/build a relationship with someone from a different place, background, etc.
- Allows every camper to learn more about the game by spending time around high level players and coaches
At the end of the day, our ultimate goal is more than just to teach basketball - it’s to instill lifelong lessons about teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. We want to help create well-rounded individuals that are ready to take on whatever challenges lie ahead, on or off the court. We’ve learned that personal growth is a little more fun with a basketball in your hand.

THOMAS
High School:
2015 NYSPHSAA Class AA State Champion
Section II Champion (2015)
All State Tournament Team, Section II First Team, Channel 13 All Star, All-State selection
Completed a postgraduate year at Cheshire Academy where Thomas helped his team advance to the Class AA NEPSAC semi-finals as a Class C school.
College:
Played for and graduated from Siena University in 3 years.
Played 4th year of eligibility and earned a Master’s Degree in Business at the Catholic University of America.
KEVIN
High School:
2015 NYSPHSAA Class AA State Champion in basketball
2016 NYSPHSAA Class AA State Champion in baseball
2x Section II Champion (2015, 2016)
State Tournament MVP (2015), All State Tournament Team (2016), New York Mr. Basketball Award (2016), New York Gatorade Player of the Year (2016), 2x Channel 13 All Star
Member of the U18 and U19 USA Olympic National Basketball Teams
College:
Played for 2 years at the University of Maryland before leaving early for the NBA Draft.
NBA:
In June of 2018, Kevin was selected by the Atlanta Hawks as the 19th overall pick of the NBA draft
In June of 2021 Kevin helped Atlanta Hawks reach the Eastern Conference Finals
In July of 2022, Kevin was traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Sacramento Kings. In his first season with Sacramento (2022-2023), the Kings attained the most efficient offense in NBA history, and Kevin helped break a 16-year playoff drought
On February 3, 2025, Kevin was traded from the Sacramento Kings to the Chicago Bulls
He is currently in his 8th season in the NBA
MEGHAN
High School:
3x Section II Champion (2017, 2019, 2020)
Suburban Council Champion (2021)
Sectional Tournament MVP, Class AA player of the year, Channel 13 All-Star, all time leading 3pt shooter in Shen Girl’s basketball history
Would have had multiple state championships if not for COVID-19
College:
After playing two seasons at Providence College, Meghan decided to transfer to UAlbany in the spring of 2023
In her final two seasons with UAlbany, Meghan helped the Great Danes amass a 51-14 overall record
In the 2023-2024 season, Meghan finished 3rd in the nation in 3pt field goal percentage at 45.9%
In the 2024-2025 season, UAlbany finished the regular season first in the American East Conference. After losing to Vermont in the Conference championship, the Great Danes earned a WBIT playoff birth
JILLIAN
High School:
2x Section II Champion (2019, 2020)
Suburban Council Champion (2021)
Class AA Sectional Tournament All Tournament Team, Channel 13 All-Star.
Would have had multiple state championships if not for COVID-19.
Attended Kent Academy as a postgrad before beginning her studies at Rutgers University in January 2023
College:
Jillian started her college career playing at Rutgers University in the Big Ten, where she averaged 6.9 pts and 25 mins per game as a freshman
Earned BIG 10 Freshman of the week honors in February 2024
In the spring of 2024, Jillian transferred to Fairfield University
In her first season with the Stags, Jillian helped Fairfield amass a 28-5 overall record, which included a MAAC Championship and and NCAA Tournament birth, where the 12-seeded Stags fell to the 5th seed Kansas State Wildcats
