About Us

Huerter Basketball Camps is a lifelong dream come true realized by four local hoopers who are proud products of the rich basketball community in the 518 area. While growing up, the Huerter siblings spent countless summer hours under the tutelage of some world class players, coaches, and trainers while attending various camps and clinics around the Capital Region. At each stop along the way on their numerous summer tours, these were some of the Huerter’s favorite elements of a quality basketball camp:

1. The ability to play basketball in a fun but competitive environment
2. The ability to try new drills and develop effective workout routines
3. The ability to make new friends/develop relationships with people from different areas
4. The ability to learn the game from and spend time around high level players and coaches

The ultimate goal of Huerter Basketball Camps is to give every camper a chance to grow on and off the court by providing access to the above opportunities.

Thomas

High School:

2015 NYSPHSAA Class 2015 NYSPHSAA Class AA State Champion

All State Tournament Sectional Finals Team, Channel 13 All Champion Star, All-State selection

PG year at Cheshire Academy where his team advanced to the Class AA NEPSAC semi-finals as a Class C school

College:

Played for and graduated from Siena College in 3 years

Played 4th year of eligibility and earned a Master’s Degree at Catholic University

Kevin

High School:

2015 NYSPHSAA Class AA State Champion, 2016 Class AA Section II Sectional Finals Champion

State Tournament MVP (2015), All State Tournament Team (2016), New York Mr. Basketball Award, New York Gatorade Player of the Year Award, 2x Channel 13 All Star

Member of the U18 and U19 USA Olympic National Teams

College:

Played for 2 seasons at the University of Maryland before leaving early for the NBA Draft

NBA:

In June of 2018, Kevin was selected by the Atlanta Hawks as the 19th overall pick in the draft

In October of 2021, following the conclusion of the 3rd NBA session, Kevin signed a 4 year contract extension with the Atlanta Hawks

Meghan

High School:

3x Class AA Section II Sectional Finals Champion

Sectional Tournament MVP, Class AA player of the year, Channel 13 All-Star, all time leading 3pt shooter in Shen Girl’s history

Would have had multiple state championships if not for COVID-19

College:

Is going into her second season on scholarship at Providence College

Jillian

High School:

2x Class AA Section II Sectional Finals Champion

Class AA Sectional Tournament All Tournament Team, Channel 13 All-Star

Would have had multiple state championships if not for COVID-19

Will attend Kent Academy in the fall of 2022 as a post grad

College:

Currently holds multiple Division I offers
